From the busy Batubelig to the serene Ubud. Yes, Watercress one of the well-known café in Batubelig has expands its wings to Ubud. Still serving fresh and delicious rustic dishes, they open their new café in the heart of Ubud at Jalan Monkey Forest. Surrounded with brick walls, exposed ceiling and their familiar quote “Love is in the kitchen” accentuate the wall; this two stories café definitely brings different feel for the classic Ubud atmosphere.

Serving their healthy and delicious food, fresh juices and smoothies, not to mention their good coffee; no doubt Watercress has become one of Ubud favorite newcomer. Start with something colorful and fresh for lunch like their Grilled Chicken, Cashew & Avocado Salad (85K) with grilled chicken breast over baby romaine, red cabbage, carrot, radish, cucumber, celery, fresh mint & coriander, topped with crunchy roasted cashew nuts and tahini dressing. The combination between creamy tahini dressing, coriander and hint of minty freshness gives this salad some distinct exotic taste.

Their famous Australian Angus Beef Burger (100K) with its tantalizing look this big stack of juicy burger is definitely one of the heroes here. Between sweet caramelized onion jam, melted cheddar, pungent English mustard, tangy pickles and its smoky and juicy beef patty combines into one mouthful taste.

Open sandwich also quite a hit in this café, I tried their Organic Roast Chicken (70K) it has this creamy texture and smoky taste from the roast chicken, mixed with garlic aioli and sundried tomato pesto topped with sliced radish all served on crunchy toasted sourdough.

Watercress café also served their all day breakfast menu, like this Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Bagel (80K) served with dill cream cheese, watercress, caper and lemon. While for family traveler like me, they have some delicious kids menu and toys to accompany your child, then they can enjoy some fresh gelato as a treat 🙂
