We all know feeding our toddlers can be tiring, especially when it comes to meals. However, here’s some ideas to add to your toddler’s meal plan that will get their taste buds a-tappin’!
Toddler Meal Idea #1: Tomato, Spinach and Cheese Quesadilla
For this meal, you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large tortillas
- 1/2 a cup of chopped fresh spinach
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- Optional: You can add 1/4 cup of diced cooked chicken for an extra protein boost
Instructions:
- Gently heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one of the tortillas in the skillet and sprinkle the cheese on top.
- Add all the diced tomatoes, spinach, and chicken (if using).
- Place the other tortilla on top and cook for around 4 minutes, flipping the quesadilla half way through. One the top shell is lightly brown, the quesadilla is ready.
- Let cool before serving to your toddler.
Toddler Meal Idea #2: Avocado Honey Bites
For this meal, you’ll need:
- 2 avocados, mashed
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup oat flour
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375ºF.
- In a medium bowl mix together the mashed avocado, honey, oat flour, oats, melted coconut oil and vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy.
- Roll the mixture into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
