Easy Milk Barfi Recipe – Milk Cake – Dessert Recipe

– 1 liter full-fat milk
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 tsp cardamom powder
– 1 tbsp ghee
– Few strands of saffron
– Chopped nuts (optional)
1. Take a wide non-stick pan and heat it on medium flame. Add ghee to it.
2. Once the ghee melts, add the milk and stir continuously.
3. Allow the milk to boil for 1-2 minutes.
4. Reduce the flame to low and add the sugar.
5. Mix the sugar well and stir continuously.
6. Cook for 20-25 minutes on low flame till the milk thickens and reduces to half of its original quantity.
7. Keep stirring to avoid any lumps or sticking at the bottom of the pan.
8. Once the milk thickens and starts coming together like a soft dough, add cardamom powder and saffron to it.
9. Mix it well and cook for 2-3 more minutes till the milk starts leaving the sides of the pan.
10. Once done, remove the pan from the stove and allow it to cool for 5-6 minutes.
11. Grease a plate with ghee and transfer the milk mixture to the greased plate.
12. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes and then cut into pieces of your choice.
13. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.
