- Preheat the oven to 375℉. Grease a cookie sheet with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- With an electric mixer, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy. \
Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time and mix until well combined. - In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold the chocolate chips and nuts (optional) into the cookie dough using a rubber spatula.
