We all have our favorite snacks, and one of my favorites is definitely chocolate chip cookies. I’m sure most everyone has encountered these delicious treats before, but have you ever tried making them yourself? It’s actually quite easy and rewarding.

Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

• 2 and 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3/4 c. (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
• 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
• 1/2 c. granulated sugar
• 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
• 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
• 1 and 1/2 c. semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
2. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
3. Measure out the butter and heat in a medium skillet over low heat until melted. Pour butter into a large bowl and add both sugars. With an electric mixer, beat on medium speed until mixture is light and fluffy (1 or 2 minutes).
4. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla extract and beat until combined, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.
5. With mixer on low speed, add the dry ingredients and mix until just incorporated.
6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
7. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 12-14 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line one cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl or stand mixer, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
4. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix together until just combined.
6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
7. Drop dough onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack and cool before serving. Enjoy!
