Ingredients Required:

– Bread slices – 6
– Ghee – for frying

– Saffron – a pinch
– Milk – 1 liter
– Sugar – 1 cup
– Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
– Rose water – 1 tsp

Instructions:

1. Take 1 liter of milk in a heavy-bottomed pan and bring it to a boil.

2. Once the milk reaches its boiling point, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer.

3. Add a pinch of saffron to the milk and stir well. This will give the milk a lovely golden colour and a rich aroma.

4. Add 1 cup of sugar to the milk and stir well until it dissolves completely.

5. Add 1 tsp of cardamom powder to the milk and stir well.

6. Add 1 tsp of rose water to the milk and stir well. This will give the milk a lovely fragrance.

7. Let the milk simmer for about 30-40 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

8. While the milk is simmering, cut the bread slices into square pieces.

9. Heat some ghee in a pan and fry the bread slices until they are golden brown.

10. Remove the fried bread slices from the pan and place them on a serving tray.

11. Pour the hot milk over the bread slices, making sure each slice is well coated with the milk.

12. Garnish the Shahi Tukda with sliced almonds and pistachios.
