Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
3. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
4. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

• 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk

• 2 teaspoons cornstarch
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter on medium speed until completely smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat on medium speed until fluffy and light in color. Beat in the egg, yolk, and vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.
4. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Beat until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Scoop cookies into 1.5 tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for at least 10 minutes before serving.
