Recently my husband and I visited a “hidden” restaurant in Umalas area located inside Maca Villas Umalas a luxurious villa compound; it’s called Mase Uma Kitchen & Bar. This restaurant comprises of three levels, each level offers different ambiance. Sitting next to the river, this restaurant also gives some calm and serene feels.

I’ll share a little bit about the ambiance itself, first we get to the second floor kinda like the main area of this restaurant decorated with minimalist design and neutral color feels a bit casual. And when we went to the first floor this area is more laidback with its swimming pool, bar and some blue pool daybeds, guest can use their pool just by spending IDR 100K per person on their restaurant and don’t worry they also provide a shower room and changing room J. Last but not least on the third floor they have some sofa seating area with warm and chic décor.

About the food itself, they offer some international menu such as juicy Beef Tenderloin Steak (115K) served with creamy mash potato, mushroom and vegetables; succulent BBQ Pork Ribs (80K) that’s been quite a favorite item for their guest.

From the sea they have some fresh and fruity Grilled Mahi Mahi (75K), what I like about their mahi mahi is the sauce they use, it’s sweet and fruity that blend nicely with the zesty flavors of the fish.

Other than the western menu, they also served Indonesian dishes like their Bebek Uma (80K) a Balinese crispy duck served with Balinese vegetables called urap, their crispy duck is less fatty compare to most of duck dishes I know, nicely seasoned and served with some appetizing sambal.

Either for a casual meeting, quality time with family and friends on the weekend or just a simple dining; Mase Uma Kitchen can be an option that you can try.
