Celebrating the fast coming summer in Bali, Foodcious team received an exciting invitation from the good people at the Quiksilver Bali Surf Academy to non other than experiencing first hand on what once used to be a sports of the royal Hawaiian family; Surfing.

Basic Surfing Knowledge

Arrived at the fully sheltered by natural canopy of big trees, QBSA tucked neatly at the beachfront of Legian, just between Jayakarta hotel and Niksoma Hotel. After dressing up in their SPF 15 surf shirt and slapping good amount of sun cream provided by them, we found our self sitting on the soft white sand for an on land tutorial. Head instructor; Febrie gave us a good session of how to stand properly on a surfboard, how to be safe in the water and surely on how to have the most fun session.

Let’s Go Surfing

After all those, straight up to the open ocean, our worries as a first timer suddenly disappear as instructors told us that we will only go to waist deep water and they constantly watching us and gave an on the spot evaluation.

Finally, we all stood up and ride the white wash with pride and smile all the way to the sand. As a city kid, we never thought surfing could be this so much fun.
