We had a chance to have a short getaway at Royal Tulip Visesa Ubud, it was a blissful property surrounded with natural beauty scenery. After we’ve done with the check-in process and get everything settled, it was already 2.30 pm we’re so hungry so we’re heading to Lesung Restaurant for some late lunch.
The restaurant itself was located next to the lobby overlooking their main pool and with some rice paddy fields as the background. Lesung Restaurant offers many great Indonesian, Asian and International dishes.
We had their Signature “Lesung” (185K) as our appetizer, it’s a spicy and zesty Thai salad consist of char grill prawn, squid, fresh mango, jicama, onion, scallion, red pepper, cherry tomato served with Thai chili sauce. With the entire flavors combo, it becomes a great appetizing start for our lunch.
Nasi Campur (155K) is one of their favorite menus here, served with 6 different dishes such as fish and chicken satay lilit, succulent beef rendang, salted egg, Balinese bebek betutu (duck betutu), spicy plecing kangkung, and 2 different sambals that complement the flavors.
When we try their nasi campur, we really like their satay so we order their Ketupat Satay (145K). These trio satays comes in a small charcoal grill, so it gives a smokey delicious aroma. It consist of Beef, Fish and Chicken Satay served with rice cake, pickles and melinjo crackers and peanut sauce.
Hmm what’s next? I think it’s time for their dessert. We pick 2 of their favorite dessert, something cold like their Es Klenger (75K) would be a great refreshment for a hot sunny day, it consist of grass jelly, sugar palm fruit, sago pearls, avocado, aromatic ginger syrup, crushed ice, evaporated milk and coconut cream served in a fresh coconut bowl.
And for my husband he surely would opt for some chocolate dessert, it was their Chocolate Hazelnut (75K) that brings a wide smile to his face, it was a deadly delicious milk chocolate cake with hazelnut paste served with vanilla ice cream, pineapple cinnamon salsa and raspberry sauce. It was soooo good!!!
We love all the dishes we’ve tried; it’s authentic, organic and tasty with good friendly service in calm breezy atmosphere. Beside Lesung Restaurant, Royal Tulip Visesa Ubud also have 2 other F&B outlet with different concept and ambiance. So when you’re in Ubud and looking for good Indonesian food, this one maybe can be an option.
