(bahasa indonesia) Nowadays, more restaurants and hotels in Bali offer the famous Sunday Brunch. Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch (eaten usually during the late morning but can extend to 3 pm). This Sunday, my family and I spent time at Feast, one of the restaurants at Sheraton Kuta – a hotel under the management of Starwood Hotels & Resort that’s also connected to Beachwalk. The dominant colors of magenta and black made this place elegant and chic.

For brunch, international and local menus were served, even jajanan pasar (traditional Indonesian pastries usually sold in market places) for dessert such as Kue Lumpur, Klepon, etc. Other than the buffet, there were few live stations to cook food the way we want them; I noticed there were stations to cook noodles, BBQ (steak, sausages, ribs, etc.), pastas and more. I often got confused where to start because there were so many marvellous choices, especially the dessert.

Of all the food, I decided to try the noodles; we could choose whether we want noodles made of wheat, spinach or sweet potato. We could also choose to put meatballs, shrimp, mushroom, vegetables, etc. in the noodles. Live acoustic performances will complete your brunch as you plunge into the pass-around desserts and drinks – which were interesting to try 🙂 As for dessert, you could choose from many fabulous choices such as Chocolate Truffle, Chocolate Fountain to dip the fruits, Marshmallows, etc. The list continues with traditional pastries, varieties of Cheese Cakes, Pies and Ice Cream stations. For “dessert buffs” like my husband and I, this would usually be the first station we go to 😀

Fortunately for my husband and I, we weren’t the only ones who could enjoy our time here. Our 2.5-year-old son also had a wonderful time, since there was a kids’ area where they could play, make handicrafts or eat with other children accompanied by friendly staff (one even willingly chased our wandering son). Kids’ tables and chairs, cutleries and varieties of healthy and eye-catching food, pastries and drinks – all of these were also included in this area. So, not only the parents can enjoy brunch in a fancy place, the kids can also enjoy, play and not get bored.
